Continuing in its mission of supporting local playwrights and artists, Boston Actors Theater will conclude its seventh season with its Summer Play Festival 2011, featuring a one-act version of Kelly's new play, Gifts for the Goddess of Illusion, directed by Jeremy Goodman. The festival will be presented, July 29th through August 7th, Fridays - Saturdays at 8pm & Sundays at 2pm, at the Boston Playwright's Theater, 949 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA. Tickets are $20 General Admission, $10 with student ID.
Also featuring original works by local authors Catherine Durickas and Elizabeth DuPre, Summer Play Festival 2011 continues this season's exploration of faith, religion and spirituality, all the while weaving together the stories of a young girl inspired by a photo of a Hindu Goddess; re-incarnated souls dreaming of past selves; and young intellectuals looking for love amidst faith and mitosis. Full of faith, imagination, wisdom and wit, Summer Play Festival is a celebration of original local work, and a bridge to a new season, "Torn from the Headlines,” an exploration of subjects relevant to Bostonians.
Established in 2004, Boston Actors Theater has firmly established itself as a company for local artists, writers and directors.
