The Cell. . . The Acolyte. . . Bluebird
Three short plays by award-winning playwright Kelly DuMar conjure the magic and mystery of the risky connections young people make and break while growing up: The Cell, a contemporary myth about Persephone’s descent to the Underworld, in which a young man seeks to capture a young woman’s soul on his cell phone; The Acolyte, in which a hung-over preppie finds absolution for his sins by trying to seduce a girl at his parent’s church; and Bluebird, a fable about a beautiful, rare bird who is captured by her reflection in an admirer’s glass. Performed by talented and engaging Boston actors, Joe Orrigo and Perri DuMar, these plays will charm and chill you.
